Friday, May 16-Saturday, May 17 at 7:30 p.m: Q&As with director Beatrice Minger moderated by Kyle Bergman of the Architecture & Design Film Festival
In 1929, avant-garde Irish designer Eileen Gray built a refuge on the French Riviera, naming it E.1027, a cryptic marriage of her initials and those of Jean Badovici, the lover with whom she made it. The house was, unfortunately, a masterpiece. But when the celebrated architect Le Corbusier discovered it, he became obsessed and sought to subordinate her work to his own. This new hybrid documentary explores Gray’s life and legacy, honoring the singular vision of a remarkable artist.
